If you love walking in nature and the sound of an outback adventure but swag camping under the stars isn’t your idea of fun, we now have a lodge-based walking experience just for you.
Our new lodge-based Arkaba Walk experience compliments our original Arkaba Walk and includes immersive day trips on foot basing you entirely out of the Arkaba Homestead (as opposed to combining the Homestead with swag camping at our signature walking camps). Allowing you the option of a more relaxed and comfortable exploration of the Flinders Ranges. Long piping-hot showers, air conditioning, and a bottomless South Australian wine cellar come with the territory.
Make your way to Arkaba Homestead from 2pm for check-in to your Homestead Guestroom. There will be time to freshen up before your guided lay of the land safari experience.
Explore Arkaba Creek on foot and immerse yourself in ancient creek lines that carve their way through Arkaba’s private wilderness alive with glorious diversity.
Stretch out in one of the world’s oldest landscapes, learn about Arkaba’s 500-million-year journey and how we are protecting and allowing natural processes to reassert themselves in this country.
Walk through geological millennia of history while discovering Bunyeroo Gorge, keeping your eyes peeled for the beautifully decorated and near-threatened Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby.
Morning at leisure to relax in the library or by the pool with a book, take an optional scenic flight over the ancient ramparts of Wilpena Pound or perhaps retreat into nature from Arkaba’s wildlife viewing hide.
